Aaliyah Yasin’s creative path
A timeline of independent publishing, changing visibility and the interviews in which she explained her choices.
Beginning without showing her face
Yasin dates the start of her publishing career to 5 February 2021. Her first phase did not show her face, allowing the work to develop before a fully visible public identity. She has described being encouraged by accounts of other independent creators earning through their own pages.
The initial idea was an additional income source. As her experience grew, publishing became a larger professional activity, with decisions about presentation developing alongside the material she made.
A change in visibility
In her 2023 interview, Yasin placed her decision to reveal her face in July 2022. This marked a change from the earlier anonymous presentation and gave her public identity a different relationship with the work.
She later connected greater visibility with a wish to explore collaborations. The choice was part of a developing career rather than simply a change to a profile image, opening a new phase in how she appeared and worked with other creators.
An interview in her own words
The October 2023 Creator of the Month feature introduced Yasin through a direct question-and-answer interview. It combined her publishing timeline with comments on managing several pages and maintaining a working life across different platforms.
The same conversation included guidance for newcomers: building connections, choosing work they enjoy and preserving the ability to decline an offer. Alongside the timeline, it records how she understood the responsibilities and practical decisions of independent creation.
A wider conversation about representation
Her February 2024 LiquidVybes interview extended the discussion to opportunities for South Asian creators. Yasin named Yasmina Khan, Jasmine Sherni, Sarah Arabic and Marina Maya when speaking about other visible performers and a changing professional landscape.
This placed her individual experience within a wider conversation about representation. The interview also returned to her early motivation and the development of collaborative work, linking personal publishing decisions with the community in which she was building her career.
